Decemberists

My most favorite month of the year! December was a busy month full of shopping (for me) and studying (for Landon) We also had the annual Winters Gingerbread Competition, we had to redeem ourselves from last year. Let's not even talk about the catastrophe...so we actually had this idea planned for months. We even went to Knott's Berry Farm this summer and their mascots are the Peanuts gang and we looked and looked for edible characters to use for our house and they didn't have any. We had to get creative and make our own.

The Snoopy was made by Landon! There isn't much that handsome man can't do. He turned out perfect!
I made the gingerbread Linus, Charlie and Peppermint Patty. I followed a tutorial I found on Pinterest. Working with melted chocolate was harder than I thought. But I think they turned out pretty cute

The final results! We came in second, which ain't too shabby. I love this tradition, Can't wait to kick butt next year

Our first Christmas tree. This tree was a gift from Landon's mom and his sisters for our birthdays. It was so thoughtful and sweet. We weren't going to buy a tree because it wasn't in the budget and we didn't think we'd have room. Christmas wouldn't have been the same without it! We already have a small ornament collection, so now it just needs a proper star atop of it. The makeshift one Lando made out of a hanger will do for now

The face of a man who is tired of shopping, even though the gifts we were buying were all for him!

Sean threw a Christmas sing along party this year and Landon even got up to sing his rendition of The Little Drummer boy. It was hilarious

Driving around to look at Christmas lights

My half assed decorated cubicle at work, We don't go all out for Christmas like we do for Halloween, but we still tried to have a little bit o Christmas spirit around

The Riter Christmas tree. This thing is over 12 feet tall and has more ornaments than necessary, but it's my favorite. It's full of ornaments from Indiana Jones, The Grinch, Star Trek, Star Wars, Spongebob...if we love it, there's an ornament for it. We also try and get ornaments from every place we travel to. This tree is the best.

Christmas day! We spent Christmas eve with the Winters and Christmas day with the Riters. It was so fun being able to share some family traditions with Landon, since last Christmas we were in Colorado. We spent the night at my parents house and woke up to open gifts with them and Nate.

I love Christmas so much and I love gift giving, so I always go a little overboard...thankfully this goober doesn't seem to mind too much. He loved his new hat and watch!
