WARNING: super romanic, slightly cheesy storytelling ahead

july 19th 2013 is the day landon and i met. 

did i know that when i went to california with sean and trent (landon's roommates at the time) that i would be staying at the future love of my life's apartment? not a clue. funny how things work out. 

it all started when i text sean (sean and trent and i were all best friends in college) and suggested we go to disneyland. i was craving it really bad and just needed to get away. sean and trent's roommate landon was in california working for the summer and he said that we could stay with him friday night after we got in. i had no idea who landon was and didn't originally want to stay with him, for fear that we would be imposing on him and his roommates. somehow the boys convinced me he was really cool and fun and wouldn't mind a bit. (they were right)

after we got in, we were starving and decided to go and look for some food. nothing was open but a little hole in the wall mexican place. i remember i got the cheese enchiladas and couldn't finish them. i asked landon him if wanted the rest, and he said yes...this was the start of a beautiful relationship! landon is still my trusty food finisher.

july 19th is the day we met, but the next day, july 20th was when the magic really happened :)

we got up early saturday morning to leave for disneyland and tried really hard to get landon to come with us, but he wouldn't budge because he had to work that day. feeling slightly disappointed, but still excited, we took off. mercedes, sean and trent and i were having a blast. even though it became rainy and cold, nothing could put a damper on the happiest place on earth. around mid-day sean was talking to landon, and because of the rain he got the rest of the afternoon off and had decided to come meet us at disneyland! 

all 5 of us together at disneyland will always be one of my favorite memories. we had so, so much fun, and it was like we had all known each other forever. we all had disney withdrawals for WEEKS after that weekend. 

here are a few flashback pictures from the most magical weekend ever

we waited in line for space mountain for over 2 hours and it was some of the most fun we had all day. we played games and asked ridiculous "would you rather" questions. 

we decided to venture down to huntington beach on sunday and just relax...

and take an absurd amount of jumping pictures with the self timer. this blooper pic is one of my favorites. 

it's crazy to think that just a few short weeks after this trip, landon and i would be falling in love and planning our life together

everything about this weekend, from finding a hotel and places to eat worked out perfectly. it was honestly as though this whole trip was meant to be.

after we got home, i couldn't stop thinking about landon. it was actually pretty bizarre. i barely knew this guy, but he made such an impression on me. he was so funny, and handsome and i just loved his voice. which is so random, but his voice is one of my favorite things about him. he did an amazing impersonation of pegasus from hercules and i'm pretty sure that's what sealed the deal for me ;) 

i was telling my mom all about our trip and how much fun i had, and when i mentioned landon, i told her i was pretty sure i was going to marry that boy. who knew i was so intuitive?? 

about a month after the trip, landon emailed me over facebook and asked for my number and said he'd like to see me when he moved home, which would be in about a week. i was pretty damn excited.

we went roller skating on our first date, where he bravely held my hand during the couples skate and didn't let go even after it was over. 

the rest is history! 

we've known each other a whole year now, and it's crazy that we've already been married for 4 months. 

it may be cheesy or silly to celebrate the day we met, but it's such a special thing for us to remember. landon and i were both at an age where we weren't sure where or how we'd meet somebody. when we met, we both knew that this was different. 

it's been an amazing year. i'm so glad it rained that saturday so landon could join us at disneyland and we could start falling in love! ;)
