Lake Days

Lake time! The last time we went out on Landon's parent's boat was almost 2 years ago, when we were first dating.. So it had definitely been awhile. I tried wake boarding for the first time too, which was a lot of fun. It was hard, but not as difficult as I always imagined it would be. I had been knee boarding and wake surfing before, so I was familiar with the process. I was able to get up a few times, which was awesome! But only for a little bit.
This trip was with the Blechs, me and Landon,  Shelley and Hal and the Gruvers. Landon's cousin and her family just moved here from Utah and it's so nice having more family around,

Tubing with Kate and Wes. These two are so much fun.

Little miss Holly's first time on the boat!!

Shelley and Hal. They're so good at organizing the boat trips and making it all possible. They're the best!

Girl time on the tube.

What a stud. He hasn't been on the water in years and he picks it up again no problem.

This trip we went with the Hortons and Shelley and Hal. We weren't able to stay all day, but we still had a blast.
Wake boarding again! Finally getting the hang of it (sort of) I was able to stay up a bit longer this time and actually had control over moving myself on the water. So fun!

Stone enjoying the nice breeze. Haha

Hortons on the tube!

See what I mean? Total stud. Except poor Landon had some bad falls and ended up breaking a rib! He's been in pain all week.

Courtney and Stone. The boat just kept rocking him to sleep
It's easy to love Arizona in the summer with water and views like this! And then you get out of the water and realize you're actually in Hell and it's not so easy anymore ;)

this & that

Last weekend Landon and I celebrated our six month anniversary! I can't believe it's already been 6 months since our wedding. Time has flown.
Growing up, I always heard the first year of marriage is the hardest (and even though it's only been half a year) it's been anything but difficult. It's certainly been a transition, as we're still getting to know each other, and finding out different habits and quirks we have. But I don't think there's anything better than being married to your best friend. It's a little cliche, but Lando is my favorite person in the world. Not just because he's my husband/lover & confidant but because he makes me laugh, always. He's honestly the funniest person I know. I love that I fall asleep laughing because he's quoting Willy Wonka.
He's unbelievably patient with me, he supports me, and he loves me exactly how I am.Even though I can be a major pain in the ass, at the end of the day, I'm still his favorite too.
The last six months have been nothing short of awesome.
We've come to realize that, he's messy and I talk too much during movies.
He talks in his sleep and I don't rinse my cereal bowls.
But we both leave our clothes all over the floor..
We're definitely a match made in Heaven :)

On the other hand, we were butting heads a bit this past weekend. More so than we ever have. I suggested we take a drive somewhere because we absolutely needed to get out of the house. We headed towards Fountain Hills. I always forget how beautiful the desert can be. Maybe the awful heat makes me overlook it, but when you really stop and look, it's something else.

There's a disc golf course Landon wanted to take me to. I was so impressed! Especially with the huge fountain that goes off every hour. We got bit to death by mosquitoes, but it was so nice to get out and remember that we love each other....even when we're annoyed with one another. ;)

Nothing beats an Arizona sunset.

Most of the course was along the water...and I accidentally kept throwing my discs in there. I'm still working on my aim! I told him not to, but disc diving gives this guy he thrill. So no matter how disgusting the water is, he'll go right in. He saved all but one.

Things have slowed down around here since we've started work and school, and I kind of love it. The weather is still out of control with the %$%# heat, but fall is in the air! I can feel it. If only because all the stores have their holiday decorations out. There's so much to look forward to this time of year.

parker!

For labor day weekend, we headed to Parker, Arizona! We all rented a lake house there and we had been planning it for months, so we were all so stoked it was finally here. There were 12 of us going, Half of us headed up Friday morning and the rest of us went up later that night. When we got to Quartzite, we found we had completely blown a tire! None of us had noticed for miles that it was missing. T changed it like it was no big thing. Unfortunately the next day he had to spend a few hundred dollars to get 2 of the trailers tires replaced.

Our view from the back porch! This is the Colorado river. It was beautiful. But strong, the current was kind of scary to swim in.

Day one on the lake!
me, Tyler, Alex

Trying to make sure the boys don't get dragged away.

Landon being a stud at wake surfing.
This was my first time trying it, and I actually was able to get up and stay up! It was a lot of fun.But exhausting. We were sore for days afterwards.

Trent, Erin

Sonoran Dessert All  Male Revue.

Sean

So beautiful. This was at Lake Havasu. The river was so crowded and so full of boats, we couldn't tube or anything so we decided to head to Havasu and it was perfect. Hardly any traffic,

Landon, Sean, T, Trent, Tyler.
We joked that this was mostly a guys trip, and the girls were there to mostly supervise ;)
It was so fun watching these boys together. They do some really, stupid, ridiculous stuff, and it's hard to watch sometimes! But they have so much fun doing nothing, and they love each other....(maybe a little too much at times, haha)

The only group photo we got the whole time! And this isn't even all of us. We're missing Tanner, Chelsea and Brendan.

The guys then proceeded to all hang onto the rope and see who could hold on the longest. I don't even know...

We had quite a bit of boat trouble on the water, we had to get jumped and towed 3 times! Luckily people were so nice and not hard to track down. The boat's alternator was acting shifty so taking it out the last 2 days was a gamble. Even just hanging out on the boat though was a good time. These people are pretty frickin hilarious.

We played lots and lots of heads up. Ate too much junk food and drank way to much Baja Blast. We had sooo much fun. There really isn't anything better than taking a vacation with people you love and who make you laugh like crazy.
