Fishing

Before the 120 degree hit us, Arizona blessed us with some INCREDIBLE weather. It was totally unheard of and wonderful. So we took advantage. Going fishing almost every night and every weekend. We're big fishing nerds now, and sometimes our date nights consist of eating Panda Express in the Bass Pro Shop parking lot and then spending the next few hours shopping for bait. Haha. It's sooo nice having Landon out of school because now we have all this time together to explore and see who can catch the most fish. He's winning for most fish caught, but I'm winning by a landslide for biggest fish  ;)
One of our favorite spots at the Salt River *Coon Bluff*

*Tempe town lake* another favorite,,,our goal is to catch a catfish here.

*Willow Springs Lake* We didn't catch anything here, apparently this is a hard lake to fish in...we spent 5 hours here trying and we didn't even get a nibble. At least the view was great.

Coon Bluff again. The Monstress ^ our biggest catch to date. Turns out she was pregnant, and that's why she was so big. We took this one home to fry up and eat, but now our bass we catch are catch and release only. Them are prize fishes!

Arguably his favorite part of fishing! The bass was okay, it wasn't my favorite fish we've tried. But that might have been because Landon gets a little spice happy when frying fish. There was garlic, bread crumbs, chili powder...you name it.

He's had a lot of luck at Tempe town  lake!

*Bartlett Lake* I caught a fish, but it was so big it swam away and broke my line!! I didn't catch anything after that...sad day.

He was using the cooler to catch smaller fish to use as bait to catch the bigger fish! Haha. Wasn't very successful catching the big fish.

*Woods Canyon Lake* Arizona is so beautiful and so much more tolerable in the summer when you go up North! I was amazed at how perfect the weather was.

It was sprinkling, fish were jumping all over the place, eagles were flying over head and diving into the water to catch fish. It was truly magical and so beautiful. I couldn't believe my eyes. Nature is awesome! Except when it involves bugs...and the heat.

(I really love this picture for some reason, I can just picture myself showing this to our grand kids years from now and telling them stories of how their grandpa used to fish) ok cheesy rant over.

He caught 2 trout! It's actually illegal to catch a trout and then not eat it. He released one, and then killed the other one because it swallowed the hook, but he took it home and planned on frying it up, but homeboy doesn't really know how to filet so he couldn't do it!
