this past weekend we went to knott's berry farm! i'm a huge amusement park junkie, (i'm also terrified of heights-it's a conflicting passion) so i had been waiting all summer for this. landon's little brother jade and his friend coltan came with us. they're just here for the summer as well, and this trip was something we definitely all needed.
the boys deciding which ride to go on first...of course they chose one of the scariest ones.
my adorable husband loves swing rides. they freak me out. i always feel like i'm going to fall out and drop to my death.
i had to put my foot down on this one. i've ridden my fair share of dropping rides like these, and i couldn't do another one! too high for millie. they seemed to enjoy it, though none of them wanted to ride it a second time ;) ^ also poor coltan couldn't figure out how to buckle his seat. it was hilarious to watch.
these churros were being freshly made in front of us! it was cool to watch. you could get them filled with creme, strawberries, boysenberries etc. they were absolutely to die for...and dare i say it, better than disneyland's.
we chose the chocolate dipping sauce. given the choice between fruit and chocolate...i always choose chocolate.
our matching is getting out of control..
bumper cars.
knott's is pretty old, but it was very well kept up and isn't like any other park i've been to. it feels like you're at a glorified state-fair. but with less people, more rides and short lines! the longest we waited all day was about 40 minutes. not too shabby.
i really love trying to take pictures while on rides. i think the pictures you get are hilarious and priceless. i'll always look at this picture and remember landon shouting "i'm choking, i'm choking!" because my hair kept getting in his mouth. hahaha. #husbandproblems
of course, knott's had a "teacup" ride and we had to get on it. the boys scouted out beforehand which sombrero was going fastest and that's the one we got on. they got it going so fast i actually got nauseous afterwards, something that never happens. i couldn't even ride the next ride they chose!
^two goofballs. jade saved our painting we had just gotten done. it almost flew out!
the theme at knott's is "peanuts" so there is charlie brown stuff everywhere.
our one souvenir from the day. we've gone to a few parks together and we always want to get caricatures done but we always remember too late in the day. we finally were able to get one! our artist was really down to earth and chill. we were able to pick any theme we wanted and he would draw it for us. we decided on a super hero theme. we think it turned out perfect! and hilarious. landon wasn't too happy with how big his hair looks ;)
it was such a fun day. we all came home with sunburns and sore necks, but it was worth it.
Those churros look so amazing!! What a fun day :) Love love love your new picture too!
