newport beach//downtown Hollywood

this post has far too many pictures, but this is just a glimpse of some things we've done since moving to California for the summer. Landon works every day from 1:30-9pm so the only day we have to adventure around is Sunday. sometimes after church, sometimes during ;)
first up is Newport beach. the closest beach is about 50 min away so we don't venture there very often. on this particular day it was windy and freezing so we didn't get in the water.

he tried to do the famous scene from The Little Mermaid. haha. didn't quite nail it.

we drove to Hollywood Blvd to see the walk of stars and other touristy sites. was very run down and old. not as glamorous as the movies make it out to be!

the chinese theatre!

jack nicholson's feet/hand prints. these were pretty cool to look at. some of them dated back to the 1940's

this candy store was pretty great though. they had my favorite English chocolate bar

perfect sign for him.

this was a nice surprise! the Hollywood sign! we didn't expect to be able to see it from the shopping plaza. definitely the highlight of our trip.

the Los Angeles temple! this temple was huge! and so beautiful. the flowers and trees they had were incredible. this used to be the world's largest temple until the SLC temple added some renovations to theirs a few years ago. i can't wait until we can go back and see the inside.

  1. Next time you go to Hollywood, you need to go to Canter's on Fairfax. It is one of my favorite places. The corned beef is too die for.
